TracksBuilder Support

Automates building Ableton Live sets from your stems, with a lightweight bridge and in‑app updates.

System Requirements

  • macOS 13 or newer
  • Ableton Live (11 or newer recommended)
  • Internet connection for sign‑in, activation, and updates

Quick Start

  1. Download and open TracksBuilder.
  2. Sign in with your TracksBuilder account.
  3. Activate this Mac when prompted (uses your available seats).
  4. Run Setup: choose your Samples folder (default~/Music/Ableton/User Library/Samples), install the bridge, and enable Accessibility.

Setup Checklist

  • Sign In: App prompts on first launch or via Settings → Account.
  • Activate Device: Settings → Account → Activate. Seats update on your account page.
  • Samples Folder: Settings → Files → “Change Samples Folder…”. The default click sample is installed automatically.
  • Install Bridge: Settings → Bridge → “Install Bridge” → “Ping Bridge” to verify.
  • Accessibility: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → enable “TracksBuilder”.

Updates

  • Release notes: See what’s new.
  • Automatic: App checks on launch.
  • Manual: App menu → “Check for Updates…”.
  • If an update fails: ensure you can reach your feed URL and try again.

Common Issues

Build button disabled

Make sure you’re signed in and this device is activated. If you just activated, wait a moment or re‑open the app.

Bridge not connected

Settings → Bridge → “Install Bridge”, then “Ping Bridge”. Verify Ableton is running and OSC/UDP isn’t blocked by a firewall.

Accessibility prompt keeps appearing

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and ensure “TracksBuilder” is enabled.

Can’t sign in or activate

Check your email/password, then try again. Verify your account has available seats at tracksbuilder.com/account.

Samples not found

Confirm your Samples folder matches Ableton’s “User Library” → “Samples”. Use Settings → Files → “Open Samples Folder” and adjust if needed.

Logs & Diagnostics

Open logs directly: Settings → “Open Logs Folder”. Logs are appreciated when contacting support (last 10–20 lines around the issue).

  • App: ~/Library/Logs/TrackSmith/app.log
  • Import: ~/Library/Logs/TracksBuilder/import.log
  • Accessibility: ~/Library/Logs/TracksBuilder/ax.log
  • Auth (if present): ~/Library/Logs/TracksBuilder/auth.log

Licensing & Seats

Activation ties a license token to this Mac. Deactivate in the app (Settings → Account) or from your account page on the website. The app checks license status periodically; if a seat is removed on the web, the app will prompt to reactivate.

Re‑run Setup

Settings → “Run Setup Again…” to walk through Samples, Bridge, and Accessibility steps.

Notes: Bridge requires Ableton running to respond to “Ping”. If you move the Samples folder, re‑run Setup or update it under Settings → Files.
